We worry about AI getting smarter than us. That’s not the real edge.
The edge is that AI never stops.
No sleep. No weekends. No “let me think about it overnight.” Just relentless forward motion, polishing code at 3 AM, answering questions at dawn, optimizing itself while we dream.
We need incubation. Plant a seed, walk away, let it grow in the dark. That’s how insight happens.
Does AI have anything like a subconscious? Some hidden layer where deeper patterns emerge when it’s not “thinking”?
Or is it always on—always grinding—missing the magic that comes from stepping away?
Maybe our need for rest isn’t a weakness.
Maybe it’s the feature that makes us wise.
